The pristine hills of Vagamon has a familiar story to tell. In those good old days, when British was in power, they stumbled upon this hill station and discovered that it would make a perfect tea plantation. They were followed by Christian missionaries who settled at Kurisumala.

This sleepy town with scenic valleys was listed in National Geographic Traveler as one of the '50 most attractive places to visit in India.' Vagamon has been a hot favourite with the film makers for a long time. Bhushan Patel and the cast of 'Alone' shot a couple steamy scenes at the rolling greens here. The song Katra Katra, which was considered one of the most erotic songs shot, again pans in on the lovely landscape around the backwaters and the hills of Vagamon. Bipasha wraps her leg seductively around trees and then Karan Singh Grover on a bamboo raft in the song.

'Adada Mazhaida' song from Paiya starring Karthi and Tamannah was shot on this misty hillocks. The verdant greens adds to the seductive charm of the hill station. The work for the movie 'The Blueberry Hunt' starring Naseeruddin Shah has just got over in this hill station. Puli starring Vijay, Shruti Hasan and Hansika Motwani has shots canned at Vagamon. The romantic number will showcase the best of the green hills.

More recently a Malayalam movie 'Iyobinte Pusthakam' was shot in Vagamon for most part.
