The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium also known as the Kaloor International stadium has a capacity of about 60, 500 spectators. One of the largest stadiums in the country, it plays host to many international football and cricket matches. Built as a football stadium given Kerala's passion for the game, it hosted a match between India and Iraq in 1997. Needless to say, it was overflowing with more than 100, 000 spectators filling the venue up. In 1998, International cricket came to this stadium. India took on Australia in the match and again the stadium was full. The stadium hosts Indian Premier League matches held in the state. And it was here that song 'Maro Maro' from the Siddharth Genelia starrer Boys was shot. The camera pans in of a group of collage going students who breaks into a song in the middle of a match. The peppy number set by A R Rahman had about 500 dancers joining in.

Surprised? Let us tell you some more. This was not the only movie shot here! The climax scenes of Tamil movie Velayudham starring Vijay was shot here. Run Baby Run starring Mohanlal was also shot here. The stadium is let out for grand events too.
